Weather and Tide

Most sailors are slightly weather obsessive because we all know that the weather can make a massive difference to our racing preparations, and of course races themselves.

Tide

Tide, especially in the Solent can be a tricky beast, particularly to those unfamiliar with double tides and strong tides. Playing the tide tactics right can make a huge difference to your race, so it's worth planning tidal information into your pre-race thinking.

Wind / weather

Every sailor has their favourite wind / weather information websites, and most of us will be religiously checking an assortment of them for the latest predictions several days before race day comes.

Here are a few suggestions in no particular order, but if you feel we've missed any that you particularly rate, please do let us know and we'll add them.
