Job Opportunity: JOG Sailing Manager
JOG Yacht Racing is one of the UK’s most active yacht racing organisations, running a full programme of coastal and offshore races each season. With a proud tradition of competitive but friendly racing and a growing membership base, we are now looking for a Sailing Manager, in a self‑employed post, to join our team.
About the Role
· Act as principal race officer for JOG races, both offshore and coastal.
· Lead on race management, including Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions, and results.
· Coordinate with host clubs, committees, and volunteers to deliver our race programme.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and risk assessments.
· Play an active role in the future development of JOG racing, supporting innovation and growth.
What We’re Looking For
· Experience as a race officer or a strong racing background.
· Working knowledge of the Racing Rules of Sailing.
· Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple events across the season.
· A team player, comfortable working with volunteers and sailors alike.
· Enthusiasm for yacht racing, with the ability to maintain JOG’s spirit of competitive yet accessible racing.
· Appropriate IT skills to run our race management.
· A willingness to travel to our race destinations and accessibility to our Cowes race HQ.
